Senior Buyer (all, 80-100%)
As Senior Buyer you oversee the E2E business relationship with T1 suppliers, including sourcing, negotiations, vendor management and CSR. This role drives sourcing excellence across all dimensions: adaptability, responsibility and supply chain profitability, while managing planning, costing and production delivery in close collaboration with suppliers, business units, and supply chain teams. The ideal start date for this position would be January 1, 2026.

Your responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing plans, including comprehensive risk assessments and margin development, in line with Mammut’s sourcing strategy and targets
- Lead T1 supplier contract negotiations, both onsite and internationally
- Support overall capacity booking, production planning and bulk production processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Lead price negotiations, identify efficiencies and manage costing optimization initiatives
- Drive transformational projects and initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate and manage supply chain optimization activities across cross-functional teams (e.g. optimizing Incoterms, payment terms, MOQs, surcharge and liability agreements, duty rates and lead times according to assortment structure)
- Implement and maintain risk management processes for the supplier base; ensure suppliers comply with general contracting terms and manufacturing agreements
- Ensure that all systems and information related to T1 suppliers are well maintained and kept up to date
- Support material buying activities and assess lead time impacts on finished goods production to reduce delays and cost risks
- Monitor the supply chain for potential issues and proactively identify opportunities for optimization across the T1 vendor base
- Support and complete the annual Buying supplier evaluation in alignment with Mammut’s sourcing strategy
- Coordinate and support the yearly supplier summit
- Contribute to CSR related business responsibility initiatives
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in purchasing, garment technology or textile related education, additional education or training in purchasing and/or management would be desirable
- 7+ years of professional experience in sourcing, buying or purchasing within the outdoor or sports industry
- Experience working with European and Asian suppliers
- Experience in garment and textile, equipment and footwear development as well as innovation and new product development would be a plus
- Team player with a collaborative mindset and skilled in managing internal and external relationships
- Effective communicator across cultures
- Ownership driven and proactive person with a creative and analytical way of thinking
- Organized, strategic and process-oriented as well as excellent presentation skills
- Strong decision-making in fast-paced environments
- Time management and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics basics
- Fluent in English, German and Vietnamese are a plus
- Strong knowledge in MS Office and PLM, ERP and Juro are desirable
