Job Description
For our site in Muttenz, we are looking for a Production Chemist (m/f/d). The facility is located in the Getec Park Swiss in Muttenz. Our technical development center in Münchwilen is nearby, facilitating collaboration from the pilot plant to actual production.
As a Production Chemist, you will oversee and lead several production lines. You are an important member of the project team for the introduction of active ingredients as a future user. You are responsible for process optimization and achieving production and quality targets as well as compliance requirements. We are open to any level of experience for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Project team member as Process Acceptor and Owner for new active ingredient introductions
- Prepare progress reports for commissioning, production, capacities, costs, optimization plans, risks, HSEQ, process transfers, etc.
- Initiate, implement, and document continuous process improvements in production; coordinate production trials to support the learning curve, capacity increase initiatives, and troubleshooting
- Responsible for production KPIs: OOS rate, OTIF, TPC reduction (product learning curve), process safety, etc.
- Main contact person for stakeholders regarding a product, e.g., shift teams, supply chain, planning, logistics, QA/QC, PTAI, and waste management
- Support high HSE standards in the plant according to internal audit requirements
- Share chemical expertise and information about potential process hazards and special hygiene aspects with the team and participate in PRA
- Responsible for compliance with all regulations and guidelines related to their function, especially HSEQ regulations
- Member of the local emergency management team
Qualifications
- Completed studies in chemistry and/or chemical engineering, PhD preferred
- Several years of experience in chemical production, PRA, and process introduction
- Good knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry, technical chemistry, or chemical engineering
- Excellent knowledge of process safety, chemical reaction hazards, electrostatics, and environmental issues
- Good general knowledge of the financial aspects of a chemical plant, continuous improvement, and change management
- Ability to work in an environment of constant change and high uncertainty (late chemical process definition, production planning, project planning, etc.)
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team
- Fluent German and English skills
