South Operations Manager

Technical Office | 80-100% | Samedan

The Technical Office is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and operation of cantonal roads, as well as for the implementation of hydraulic works and non-motorized traffic in Graubünden. We also take care of the operational maintenance of national roads within the canton. The cantonal road infrastructure includes over 1450 structures, including bridges up to 90 meters high and tunnels up to 3 kilometers long. The challenges that the nature of our mountain canton presents in summer and winter make our work demanding and varied. As a certified office with the Friendly Work Space label, the health and satisfaction of our approximately 480 employees are particularly important to us. For this reason, we are committed to systematic health management in the company (GSA).

For the road maintenance section in district 3 Samedan, we are looking for as of April 1, 2026 or by agreement a South Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

Technical and personnel management of the south operational maintenance team
Planning and execution of operational maintenance of cantonal roads
Planning interventions of the three maintenance groups with a total of about 20 employees, vehicles, and machinery in collaboration with the three directly subordinate head roadkeepers
Support to the construction sector with work management tasks for the building maintenance of cantonal roads
On-call service as intervention leader and willingness to participate in avalanche service

What we expect from you

Master builder or foreman diploma
Several years of experience in road construction or maintenance
Leadership experience and entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to assert oneself and initiative
High degree of autonomy and sense of responsibility
Good computer skills
Excellent written expression skills in German
Knowledge of Italian in spoken and written form; knowledge of Romansh is an advantage
