Civil Protection Operations / Training Manager

Military and Civil Protection Office | 80 - 100 % | Chur

The Military and Civil Protection Office is the cantonal specialized service for all matters related to the military, civil protection, and population protection sectors and enforces the relevant laws.

Civil protection is one of five partner organizations of population protection (police, fire brigade, public health, technical services, civil protection).
In the canton of Graubünden, about 1700 civil protection militiamen are incorporated into regional civil protection companies and various special formations.

The Military and Civil Protection Office is looking for a civil protection operations / training manager starting 1.08.2026 or by agreement

Tasks

Personnel management, specialist and organizational leadership of the civil protection operations / training sector as well as the Graubünden civil protection battalion
Responsible for further development of the organization in terms of structure, processes, and training
Ensuring the regular operation of the service at the Meiersboda Training Center
Ensuring the operational readiness of civil protection
Support and advice to commanders and cadres of the regional civil protection companies
Leadership and collaboration in various projects
Inter-cantonal exchange as well as representation in working groups
Member of the Office management

What we expect from you

Completed professional training and several years of practical experience
Civil protection instructor diploma with federal professional certificate
Several years of leadership experience in the military or civil protection sector
Motivating and team-oriented leadership style, self-confidence, and assertiveness
High service availability and ability to work in a team in an interdisciplinary context
Innovative personality, capable of interdisciplinary thinking, with strategic, conceptual, and communication strengths
Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
High social competence, flexibility, and strong ability to cope with stressful situations
Knowledge of Italian and/or Romansh is an advantage
