Receptionist at the Adult Intensive Care Medicine Service
The Adult Intensive Care Medicine Service (SMIA) is looking for a 60% receptionist on a permanent contract, starting December 1, 2025.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Adult Intensive Care Medicine Service (SMIA) provides clinical care for all adult medical and surgical patients at CHUV requiring intensive care services. It fulfills both a university hospital role (highly specialized medicine, complex care), with priority supra-cantonal missions such as major burn victims and heart or lung transplant patients, and a proximity role for patients from the Lausanne region.
Mission
- You ensure the reception of families and relatives of hospitalized patients. You organize meetings with the medical and nursing staff
- You handle telephone reception and transfer medical information requests to the nursing staff
- You manage, upon request, appointment scheduling for non-urgent patient examinations with the relevant services
- You distribute informational brochures and satisfaction questionnaires to patients and their relatives
- You manage the administrative handling of patient admissions, discharges, and movements
- You organize, at the administrative level, internal patient transfers within the Hospices and to other institutions
- You search for and provide, upon request from the medical and nursing team, documents concerning patients
- You distribute laboratory results and various examination reports to the nursing staff
- You provide administrative support to the medical and nursing team
- You manage the office supplies storeroom of the service and place necessary orders
- You manage pharmacy labels and ensure sufficient stock for the proper functioning of the service
- You keep tariff folders and information on the service notice boards up to date
- You prepare repair orders for non-medical equipment
- You occasionally work on weekends and public holidays.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee, a medical secretary diploma, or an equivalent qualification
- You have excellent knowledge of Windows MS Office
- You demonstrate interpersonal ease and a sense of hospitality
- You have excellent communication skills
- You have at least 2 years of professional experience in public reception
- You have knowledge of hospital software programs (Axya, Metavision, Soarian)
- You speak and understand a foreign language, which is an asset
- You show flexibility, the ability to work in a team, and autonomy
- You manage stress and priorities very well.
