About the job
The Thurgau Art Museum and the Ittingen Museum in the Ittingen Charterhouse offer a rich exhibition and event program. Historic rooms, an attractive art collection, and magnificent gardens invite a wide audience to visit seven days a week with diverse attractions.
From May 1st or by arrangement, we are looking to strengthen our team with interested and customer-oriented personalities for about 30% work commitment for our visitor service (museum supervision and reception).
Your tasks
- Exhibition supervision: Control of access areas and monitoring compliance with the rules of conduct in the museums through constant and discreet patrols in the assigned supervision area.
- Reception of visitors at the cash desk. Operation of the cash register system, correct booking of admissions and museum tours, sale of products from the museum shop.
- Support visitors by providing information about current exhibitions and projects as well as answering phone inquiries.
- Assistance at openings and special events
Your profile
- You enjoy interacting with people of all ages
- You are interested in art and history, reliable, competent, and flexible with your time.
- You maintain an attentive and courteous manner with visitors and are aware of your role as the "business card" of the museums.
- You are a team player.
- You can conduct simple dialogues in English and/or French.
- You are comfortable using common email programs and performing small internet research tasks.
- Holiday replacements within the team.
A high degree of flexibility regarding scheduling as well as good physical endurance due to standing work are prerequisites for this position.
You will work 2–3 days per week, preferably Thursdays and Fridays, as well as at most 3–4 weekend days per month. Working hours adapt to the seasonal opening times of our museums.
