Clerk for Natural Hazards
Office for Forest and Natural Hazards; 40-80% (job sharing possible); Region Herrschaft/Prättigau/Davos and Surselva, workplace: Landquart and/or Ilanz
The Office for Forest and Natural Hazards Graubünden (AWN) is the cantonal specialist office for the forest and the protection of people, habitats, and infrastructure from natural hazards. We analyze hazard processes, develop innovative protection strategies, and support municipalities in planning and implementing effective measures. With expertise, sustainable solutions, and a strong network, we contribute to securing safety and quality of life in the canton of Graubünden in the long term.
We are looking for, starting June 1, 2026, or by agreement, a clerk for natural hazards to support the regional natural hazard specialists.
Your area of responsibility
- Support of the natural hazard specialists in the regions Herrschaft/Prättigau/Davos and Surselva from planning/conception regarding hazard assessment, through statements on building applications and review procedures, to the implementation of expert reports and projects for the hazard commission or emergency planning in terms of prevention and precaution
- Independent processing of selected, object-/project-specific assignments and hazard assessments in the natural hazard processes avalanche, fall, landslide, or water
- Preparation and participation in inspections of the hazard commission, recording the results for the hazard commission, and preparation of the hazard commission's plans
- Support of the natural hazard specialists and the regional forest engineers in managing natural hazard events
- Support of the regional forest engineers in recording and controlling events in the event register
What we expect from you
- A higher education (ETH, university, university of applied sciences, or college) or equivalent education corresponding to the job profile
- In-depth knowledge in the field of natural hazards and ArcGIS
- Committed, team-oriented, and reliable personality
- The general working language is German; good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
