Cantor (30%)
The Church District One belongs to the Zurich Church Community and includes the old town with the churches Fraumünster, Grossmünster, St. Peter, the Wasserkirche, and the Predigerkirche. The city church St. Peter is a lively, open place where our pastor, organist, and cantor jointly develop new formats of celebration. Our St. Peter choir is firmly anchored in the community and actively shapes the musical life with its rich church music tradition.
For the city church St. Peter, in the middle of Zurich's old town, we are looking for a
Your tasks
- Co-design of new formats such as "Petrina at five" (Sat, at 5:00 p.m.),
as well as other devotions throughout the year - Design of festive services, concerts, low-threshold sing-along projects, senior singing, etc.
- Leading the weekly Tuesday rehearsals of the St. Peter choir
as well as two rehearsal weekends per year - Cantoral services without choir
- Collaboration in community committees and in the music team of Church District One
Your profile
- Master's degree in church music with a focus on choir conducting or equivalent cantor training
- Experience in church music practice and repertoire of performed oratorio works
- Interest in shaping today's church and contributing impulses for the church of tomorrow
- Enthusiastic, humorous, and communicative personality who works inspiringly with amateurs and professionals
- Team spirit and joy in dealing with various stakeholders
- Openness and curiosity towards a broad musical-stylistic spectrum

Initial interviews will take place on Monday, May 4 or Wednesday, May 13, 2026, each from 1:30 p.m. The trial conducting with the St. Peter choir will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in the evening.
