About the job
To complement our team, we are looking for an immediate or by arrangement a
Tasks
- Together with your two colleagues, you offer individual and group therapies in animal-assisted therapy for mentally ill people aged 18 to 64 in a (partial) inpatient setting
- You implement occupational therapy treatment (with a focus on work therapy – animal-assisted therapy) based on evidence
- You take on tasks related to the care and maintenance of the animals entrusted to you (such as mucking out and cleaning) as well as seasonal outdoor work (mowing and fencing)
- You will take on weekend duties and on-call shifts depending on the workload in the areas of garden therapy and animal-assisted therapy
- You contribute to the conceptual further development of the work therapy offerings in animal-assisted therapy
- You are part of the intra- and interprofessional treatment team and actively participate in the implementation of therapeutic goals within the overall treatment
- You proactively participate, among other things, in patient-related case discussions, reports, team meetings, and supervisions
- You maintain professionally sound documentation
Profile
- You have a degree or training in occupational therapy recognized in Switzerland (BSc, FH, HF). Additionally, you have clinical experience working with employable people with mental health issues
- You have expertise in the care, supervision, and maintenance of large and small animals such as donkeys, ponies, or chickens
- You bring experience in conducting therapeutic interventions within animal-assisted therapy and have additional training in this field (e.g., CAS in animal-assisted therapy)
- You are interested in animal training or willing to further educate yourself in this area
- You are willing and flexible to independently take on weekend duties and also perform agreed tasks from garden therapy
- You have experience conducting assessments to determine work ability
- You think and act in a networked and innovative way and are characterized by personal responsibility, flexibility, and teamwork. Additionally, you are physically resilient and show manual skills.
