Medical secretary for the Addiction Medicine Service
The Department of Psychiatry (DP) of the CHUV is looking for a medical secretary between 80% - 100% for the outpatient clinic of the Addiction Medicine Service (SMA) located in Lausanne. The starting date is scheduled for May 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education.
The Addiction Medicine Service (SMA) groups together the CHUV's services related to the management of addictions, with and without substances (alcohol, drugs, medications, other psychotropics, excessive gambling, cyber addiction).
The outpatient clinic provides all outpatient services of the SMA. It offers an addiction consultation intended for anyone, patient or relative, concerned by risky consumption or addiction to substances, or by excessive gambling behaviors or other behavioral disorders (internet, video games).
Mission
- You ensure the telephone and physical reception of patients, their relatives, and visitors to the consultation.
- You manage telephone calls and the orientation of consultation users.
- You handle the administrative management of outpatients: admission, updating data, and controlling the entry of services.
- You keep medical records up to date: typing, proofreading, and correcting various documents (discharge letters, reports, correspondence).
- You process medical information requests and ensure the archiving of files.
- You participate in managing administrative tasks related to the smooth running of outpatient units: maintaining dashboards, managing mail.
- You contribute to the training of apprentices and administrative interns.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or equivalent training, ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma.
- You have at least 5 years of autonomous secretarial experience.
- You have perfect command of the French language (oral and written) - knowledge of a foreign language would be an asset.
- You have advanced skills in common computer tools - knowledge of institutional IT tools would be an asset.
- You have a service-oriented mindset and are able to integrate into a multidisciplinary team.
- You know how to adapt your communication to the context and demonstrate empathy, a spirit of mutual aid, and collaboration.
- You are highly flexible and have a sense of organization and priorities.
- You already have knowledge of the structures and operations of Vaud state services and parapublic bodies related to the activities of the Psychiatry Service.
