About the job
Chanel is a global luxury brand defined by timeless elegance, exceptional quality, creativity and savoir-faire. Rooted in a rich heritage and guided by forward-thinking creative vision, Chanel continues to set the standard for luxury across every touchpoint.
Our fashion boutiques play a vital role in bringing each collection and campaign to life. We are seeking a passionate, driven and dedicated Window & Décor Production Manager who will help shape and deliver Chanel’s creative concepts whilst translating global ideas into locally relevant and impeccable executed designs. Thus, elevating the client experience and reflect the brand’s enduring values.
About the role:
The Window Décor Production manager plays a pivotal role in bringing Chanel’s creative vision to life across boutique windows and animations. Reporting into the Swiss Markets Head of Visual Merchandising, this role is responsible for translating global concepts into refined, window designs for each main collection (8 collections per year, 24 windows within 14 boutiques across 5 countries).
The role leads the end-to-end production process, from developing high-quality window renderings to managing execution on the ground. Working in close partnership with local vendors, visual merchandising teams and external service providers. The Window Décor Production Manager ensures every installation meets the highest standards of craftmanship, quality, and timeliness.
A strong focus on budget ownership is essential, with responsibility for managing campaign décor cost, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring optimal value without compromising creative excellence. Sustainability is core to how we work; you’ll oversee material sourcing, recycling, and upcycling initiatives in line with Chanel’s circularity commitments.
Responsibilities:
-
Adapt global window guidelines to suit local boutique architecture while preserving brand identity and creative intent.
-
Work in a 360 collaborative manner with internal divisions, departments, creative, retail, store planning, operations, procurement and sustainability teams.
-
Build and manage strong partnerships with local vendors, ensuring the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship and timely delivery.
-
Own and manage window campaign budgets, including cost planning, supplier negotiations, and spend control to achieve best-value outcomes.
-
Conduct site visits as required to oversee installations, assess feasibility, and ensure execution meets creative and operational standards.
-
Ensure all window installations comply with brand, safety and operational standards across all boutiques.
-
Continuously review production processes and supplier performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, sustainability and creative impact.
You are engaged by:
-
Building meaningful partnerships with local vendors, VM Teams and multiple internal departments in a 360 collaborative environment.
-
Having a mix of creative and hands on work. Designing, problem-solving and producing, not just concepting or managing from a distance.
-
Being involved from the first rendering to the final install, with real accountability and pride in the outcome.
-
Making thoughtful choices around materials, reuse, recycling and upcycling in line with Chanel’s circularity goals.
-
Having regular touchpoints with multiple teams and knowing your work has a direct impact on the brand and boutiques.
Knowledge/Experience
-
Proven experience in window décor design, set design or a related creative field.
-
Formal studies or professional training in design, scenography, interior design or a comparable area of expertise.
-
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for concept development, renderings and presentation.
-
Working knowledge of 3D design software such as SketchUp and Rhino, with the ability to visualize and communicate concepts.
-
Solid understanding of material, finishes and production techniques used in window décor and installations.
-
Practical, hands-on skills including carpentry and strong manual dexterity to support prototyping, mock-ups and on-site adjustments.
-
Confidence managing budgets, tracking cost and balancing creative ambition with financial constraints.
-
Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and timelines.
