ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE - LUXEMBOURG
JTI Luxembourg market is currently part of the legal entity JTI Company Netherlands BV Belgian Branch (Benelux cluster) and will be separated into a standalone legal entity in Luxembourg. The Luxembourg entity will continue its business model as before, operating as an LRD of JTI SA.
The Accounting Associate will work in Luxembourg, and coordinate and assist in all accounting activities related to GL, AP, C&B, tax, external audit, closing, and reporting—primarily within the Luxembourg market, and extended to the Dutch and Belgian markets if necessary. This role ensures completeness and accuracy of accounting in accordance with business requirements (IFRS) and local Luxembourg rules and regulations.
Position:
Accounts Payable
Coordinate vendor invoices with the Shared Service Center (GBS), including tracing requisitioners, PO numbers, incorrect invoices, reminders, and vendor communication. Coordinate requests of all kinds from local employees. Prepare and submit various templates.
General Ledger
Reconcile GL accounts; prepare and send journal vouchers; check postings, clearings, accruals, and reclasses.
Provide cost information to budget holders.
C&B Transactions: Clear accounts for various bank accounts. Prepare and submit various templates.
Internal and External Audit
Support internal and external audits, including preparation of financial statements, collection of audit evidence, and handling other audit requests.
Excise Tax, CIT, Transfer Pricing, and VAT
Assist in the preparation of tax filings (Excise Tax, CIT, Transfer Pricing, and VAT) and follow up on required tax payments.
Reconcile and follow up on tax-related GL balances.
J-SOX Compliance
Ensure effective operation of all J-SOX GRM controls assigned to the position.
Fulfill all global J-SOX requirements related to the assigned controls
Requirements:
- Bachelor in accounting (or equivalent)
- Preferably at least 2-4 years experience in broader accounting including GL, in an international company, and preferably knowledge of IFRS and LU GAAP
- English & French mandatory
- Enhanced MS Office knowledge
- SAP or similar ERP system experience is an advantage
