Your Mission:
- Technical Leadership & Expertise
· Brings extensive multi-disciplinary engineering expertise and leads complex, cross-functional technical tasks.
· Acts as a second-level technical escalation point and provides expert support during project reviews for his discipline.
· Leads the technical committee of senior engineers responsible for key design decisions.
· Defines and harmonizes the technical roadmap, competencies, and design methodologies across global engineering teams.
· Reviews technical documentation and deliverables, ensuring alignment with product- and mission-specific requirements.
· Owns technical, budget, and schedule responsibility for assigned work packages (e.g., 3D concept/detail design, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, ICDs, change request, mass budgets).
· Applies project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule objectives.
· Collaborates with manufacturing, operations, quality, and other discipline to support production environment.
· Participates in bidding activities, including proposals, quotations, concept development, and make-or-buy decisions.
· Represents the engineering department in negotiations and reviews with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
· Coaches and mentors less experienced engineers, supporting their onboarding and professional growth.
· Leads the department’s Training Academy for Talent Development, organizes workshops, and fosters a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
· Contributes to the hiring process and helps identify and maintain key competencies within the discipline.
· Process & Quality Management
· Ensures compliance with internal processes and actively contributes to their improvement, especially in design-related areas.
· Participates in Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs), leads root cause analyses (RCAs), and implements corrective and preventive actions.
· Promotes global knowledge sharing through lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Supports the development of engineering tools, standards, and processes for new and existing products.
· Strategic & External Engagement
· Contributes to defining the company’s technical direction and long-term engineering strategy.
· Identifies emerging trends and technologies, integrating them into the product roadmap and engineering practices.
· Builds and maintains relationships with external stakeholders and represents the company at key industry events (e.g., conferences, trade fairs).
· Reports to and supports senior management within the Mechanical Satellite Solutions Department.
Your Story:
- University Bachelor/master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or similar.
- Minimum 10 years of technical experience with proven expertise and track records in mechanical design of composite structures & subsystems
- Broad understanding, competence and experience in Engineering design processes, tools, standards and methodologies
o Leadership skills combined with excellent communication skills.
o Acting in a leading role for a minimum of three years
· Nice to have’s:
o Space or Aerospace experience
o Knowledge of the space industry and market
o Project Management Acumen
