Specialist in Media and Public Relations with Deputy Function 80%Correctional Services & Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich. Around 1,400 employees from diverse professional fields are committed daily to secure enforcement, preventing recidivism, and successful social reintegration.
The Communications Department is directly under the office management. We continuously develop communication and public relations, maintain dialogue with the public, and support the office in demanding, often dynamic areas.
To strengthen our team, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for an implementation-strong, communicative personality with quick comprehension and leadership experience.
Your tasks
- You represent the head of the Communications Department and provide professional leadership to the team. You supervise employees and interns.
- You ensure compliance with quality standards, coordinate and prioritize tasks, and keep an overview of daily business and ongoing projects.
- You largely respond independently to media inquiries and accompany filming in our institutions.
- You support employees in media appearances, ensure the one-voice principle, and act as a spokesperson yourself.
- You translate complex issues into understandable language and write texts for different target groups.
- Conception & project work
- You design, plan, and implement communication projects and measures.
- You support the department in digitalization and further develop the information databases.
Your profile
- Interest in correctional service topics and socio-political issues.
- A completed degree (FH/University) or higher professional training in communication, media, or journalism.
- At least ten years of professional experience, including 5 years in media and public relations or journalism.
- Excellent editorial skills, experience in designing communication measures, and leadership experience.
- Experience in crisis communication
- Professional appearance and confidence in front of microphone and camera.
- Teamwork, flexibility, organizational skills, creativity, and enjoyment of diverse tasks.
- Excellent German skills; good English and French skills are an advantage.
