About the job

The Department of Justice and Security is looking for a Secretary General due to the retirement of the long-standing incumbent as of October 1, 2026, or by agreement

Your tasks

In this key role, you will lead the departments of Administration, Legal Service, as well as Foster Care and Home Supervision with 17 employees. You advise the head of the department on operational and strategic issues, work closely with the 13 offices, accompany legislative processes, and represent the department in numerous committees both internally and externally. Furthermore, you coordinate the response to parliamentary initiatives and handle internal as well as external consultation procedures.

As a pronounced generalist, you think strategically and are accustomed to working in a variety of areas without losing sight of the big picture. You have a sense for political contexts and keep an eye on relevant developments.
