University of Music Basel FHNW, Classical

Your tasks:

In this position

You teach the subject Ensemble/Ensemble Direction in the Bachelor Music and Movement program at the Classical Institute with an employment rate of 7% (1.5 lessons/week)
You convey fundamental and solid techniques for musical leadership of ensembles
You lead practical school music-making in ensembles or bands with various instruments in different style areas
You teach arranging for class music-making
You are familiar with the principles of teaching practice in music and movement. You include the connection between music and movement and the relation to voice and speech in your teaching.
You are involved as an internal expert in final examinations
You contribute through your commitment in teaching and committees to the design and further development of the Music and Movement program, to projects in collaboration with colleagues on the campus of the Music Academy Basel, thereby contributing to the advancement of the University of Music FHNW

Your profile:

We are looking for a committed personality for this position with

a completed degree in school music or music and movement or an equivalent qualification
several years of teaching experience at various age and education levels, including experience in forms of group teaching and ideally also teaching practice at university level
experience in supervising stage projects
own artistic stage experience and artistic charisma
a certain flexibility in scheduling as well as a good command of the German language
