In the framework of the project, many oil-filled transformers will be replaced by cast-resin transformers, for environmental reasons. You will design studies for power transformers and power converter systems, redaction of technical specifications, tendering, follow-up of industrial production of transformers, factory testing and quality management, as well as activities for installation and commissioning of power transformers.
As part of the design studies, you will work on simulation models for power converter systems for the correct dimensioning of the power transformers for particle accelerator operation. In addition, you will take increasing responsibility for the maintenance activities of oil-filled and cast-resin transformers, including the supervision and coordination of contractors working at CERN. You'll be part of a team of skilled technicians and passionate engineers, responsible for the operation, maintenance, and new projects of high-power converter systems in the power range between 1 and 150 MW.
Your responsibilities:
- Electrical design studies and simulations of cast-resin transformers and their associated power converters.
- 3D mechanical design studies for transformer integration onto their transformer pits.
- Redaction of technical specifications for cast-resin transformers and participation in the procurement process.
- Management of contracts and participation in the supervision of contractors' personnel.
- Cooperation with the manufacturer for the detailed design process of transformers.
- Participation in the follow-up of the factory consolidation of large oil-filled transformers.
- Validation, type and routine testing in the factory.
