School Social Work Professionals at the Kantonsschule Zürcher Oberland 70 - 80%
The Kantonsschule Zürcher Oberland (KZO) in Wetzikon currently has 59 classes, a lower secondary level (9th/10th school year), and all five Zurich Matura profiles. With around 1300 students, 200 teachers, and 40 staff members in administration and operations, KZO is one of the large high schools in the canton. The school is located a five-minute walk from Wetzikon train station.
From April 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are looking for two school social work professionals (total 150%).
Area of responsibility
As a school social work professional, you advise our students on personal, social, and school-related challenges and serve as a contact point for (class) teachers. You promote the integration of students into the class and support the school team in recognizing psychosocial problems, initiate early interventions, and contribute to positive community building at the school. You bring in your expertise and maintain a sustainable network with other school social work professionals at other cantonal schools.
Profile
You are a committed individual with professional experience in school social work or counseling experience in the youth sector. You are interested in age-typical developmental tasks and related aspects of mental health. With your solution-oriented systemic approach, you can mediate well between people with different concerns.
You demonstrate an independent, structured, and reflective working style and are motivated to shape and establish the new support service at KZO as a two-person team. Experience in concept and project work is essential for this.
Your communication skills, teamwork, and resilience benefit you both in dealing with various stakeholders and in managing crises.
A formal requirement for application is a bachelor's degree in social work, combined with further training in school social work (CAS) or a comparable field (CAS).
Offer
We offer you a stimulating and dynamic working environment at our cantonal school with a rural-progressive profile. KZO is an innovative school that understands counseling and support as an essential contribution to a healthy school culture. Your ideas and skills in favor of the newly developed school social work service are welcome at our school. You will work in a two-person team in your own centrally located office and maintain close contact with class teachers, the support team, the school doctor, teachers for prevention and health promotion, as well as the school management.
We look forward to meeting you.
Further information about our school can be found at www.kzo.ch. For more details, please contact Mr. Martin Studer, Vice Principal, at 044 933 08 11, martin.studer@kzo.ch.
