Job Description
Join the fast-paced and dynamic JPM Suisse Private Bank Client Operations team to onboard new clients, maintain existing accounts and drive best practices whilst ensuring we adhere to regulatory requirements.
Tax Operations is recruiting for an US Tax specialist level candidate to join their Operations group based in Geneva. Tax Operations are uniquely positioned at the heart of what we do. We impact the business we undertake from end to end, are involved in all steps of the transaction lifecycle as well as new initiatives (products and services) and vendor management. We work in collaboration with counterparts from all areas across Lines of Business, Technology, Finance and Corporate Functions.
As a US Tax and Qualified Intermediary (QI) Specialist within Client Operations Team in Geneva, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with US tax regulations and managing our QI program. You will be responsible for providing reporting on tax matters to internal teams, overseeing QI reporting, and liaising with regulatory authorities.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the point of contact for Corporate tax & US Tax teams and oversee the resolution of any tax-related inquiries or audits.
- Helping the team to optimize production processes and contributing to the continual improvement of production tools. Ensuring the follow up of our client’s requests.
- Escalate production-related issues, ensuring continuity of service while simultaneously managing effective resolution with key stakeholders.
- Participate and contribute to the various strategic initiatives to evolve our business architecture.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 1042/1042S, 1099 & 1098 US tax reporting experience. US Tax subject matter expert (SME)
- Law/business degree or background
- Early-career professional experience
- Understanding of the different structures (e.g. Trust, Foundations, Partnerships, PHC) opened within the Wealth Management industry
- Knowledge of Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and familiarity with US tax forms - FATCA QI
- General knowledge on the European tax regime, i.e. Swiss, Spanish, Italian, UK, French, German
- Excellent organizational skills - attention to detail, methodical, process driven
- Ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently and prioritize effectively
- A flexible, team spirited approach with the ability to work independently
- Fluency in English mandatory
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular with Word, Excel, the ability to use data analytics tools and AI solutions.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Degree qualification or professional certification relating to Tax
- Fluency in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, or Arabic would also be a strong advantage.
