THE ADVANTAGES OF THE JOB
Hello, my name is Charlotte, I have been working at Société Générale for 13 years within the market activities department. After my studies, I started with a VIE for one year in New York. Then, I joined the trading floors in Paris and I never left.
My job is to create tailor-made savings products with different risk-return levels that we sell to our partners, insurance companies, private banks, banking networks, etc.
We have a real impact, especially thanks to innovation. Innovation allows us to offer the client the best possible risk-return combination. Also, we can create new themes to help diversify their savings. For several years now, we have been taking ESG criteria into account to build our offer and thus enable our clients to have responsible saving behavior.
I am in sales, so I would say above all good interpersonal skills. Being attentive to fully understand the client’s needs and desires and keeping in mind that the priority is the long-term satisfaction of our clients.
In Paris, I work in the largest trading floor in Europe. To give you an idea, each floor is the size of two football fields and all participants in the same operation are on this floor. There are salespeople, engineers, marketing, IT, legal, of course, I am forgetting some. And that allows us to be ultra reactive, very agile, and it is key to being innovative. Moreover, many actions are taken to increase diversity within the teams. For example, there is a task force called Women in MARK, and our job is to attract female talents and also to change mindsets.
Within the Société Générale group, it is possible to work in an insurance company, in a banking network, at Boursorama, in car leasing. So it is very diverse. And if we add to that the fact that we are present in 66 countries, it creates a multitude of opportunities and it is possible to have several professional lives within the Group.
