The Kantonsschule Zimmerberg in Au ZH was newly opened in August 2020. In its sixth year of operation, it now has 24 classes and will grow to a size of around 620 students in the coming years. It offers a long and a short gymnasium with four Matura profiles (classical languages, modern languages, mathematical-scientific, and economic-legal). At our Kantonsschule, personal contact and the individual are at the center.
From February 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are looking to complement the team with a laboratory technician for the subject of chemistry. Willingness to additionally engage in the subjects of physics and biology on a substitute basis is required.
Your tasks
Your tasks include preparing and setting up experiments for lessons on behalf of the teachers. You document the experiments, manage the required materials, and contribute your expertise in the development and creation of experiments. The school is still being developed, so active participation in developing new experiments is desired. You will be involved in the evaluation, ordering process, and training of teachers when acquiring new laboratory equipment. Close collaboration between the chemistry, biology, and physics departments is central at our school, so interest and commitment in all three areas are required.
Your profile
You have training as a laboratory technician in the field of chemistry (or an equivalent qualification). As a contact person for our science teachers, you have a competent and motivated demeanor as well as good written and oral communication skills. The broad range of tasks and the lively environment require a high degree of flexibility and personal responsibility. We are looking for an independent thinker and worker who contributes themselves and their ideas. Preferably, you bring solid knowledge in technical and electronic matters.
