Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) in Strategic Purchasing (m/f/d)

Your Tasks ​

• Ensuring the delivery quality of internal and external suppliers
• Supporting the assurance of quality and on-time deliveries in close cooperation with QA, planning, production, and development
• Monitoring and analyzing quality indicators (PPM, complaints, rework, costs)
• Monitoring, controlling, and developing external suppliers to meet quality and delivery requirements
• Conducting supplier audits (process, system, and product audits) and accompanying audit measures until effectiveness
• Participating in internal quality rounds (QRK) and coordinating with central SQM on critical suppliers and escalations
• Leading the monthly KLS meetings (Key Supplier Meetings) including coordination of escalations and follow-up on measures
• Building, maintaining, and further developing reporting of quality-relevant key figures to improve transparency about delivery quality
• Coordinating focus suppliers including target agreements and tracking target achievement
• Supporting purchasing in supplier selection, evaluation, and development
• Conducting supplier approvals (self-disclosure, approval audits, risk assessment, potential analysis)
• Leading and implementing improvement projects with strategically important suppliers (e.g., process optimization, capacity increase, performance improvement)
• Further developing, optimizing, and implementing methods, processes, and tools for structured collaboration with external suppliers
• Close cooperation with internal interfaces to sustainably improve supplier performance

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in conducting (process) audits
• Successfully completed studies (Bachelor/Master) in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a comparable course of study
• Experience in quality and supplier management and with common Q-methods and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, VDA6.3, 5-Why, Ishikawa, 8D reports)
• Several years of professional experience in quality management in the area of supplier management/ development
• Independent, structured, and careful working style
• Confident and convincing appearance towards external interlocutors as well as assertiveness
• Initiative, flexibility, and teamwork skills
• Very good German and English skills, additional languages are an advantage
• Willingness to travel (10% - 20%)
• Experience in project management, especially in collaboration with external partners, is desirable
• Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as assertiveness with a confident demeanor even in conflict situations
