Thayngen is a municipality with a rural character. It was certified in 2017 with the UNICEF label "Child-Friendly Municipality." The managed Thayngen School is a progressive and lively school where integrative teaching takes place. At several locations, around 700 motivated children and young people learn together with highly committed and experienced teachers. Thayngen School operates according to the concept "Workplace School," which places a high value on promoting cross-disciplinary skills. During the self-learning time integrated into the lessons, students have the opportunity to work on the learning content of various subjects according to their personal learning level or to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, arithmetic, and foreign languages.
