Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents, and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defense of the interests of the child.
Serving the families of the canton, it operates through four main areas of action: child welfare , emergency reception , family support , and preparation for autonomy .
To fulfill its mission, the institution employs about 750 staff, manages more than 40 facilities across the Canton of Geneva, and has over 500 places for minors and young adults.
As part of the development of its activity, the FOJ is looking for a Deputy Director of Educational Home (DAFE) for an emergency reception home for 6 to 8 young people and a medium-long term home for 10 young people aged 13 to 18.
Job Description
Under the responsibility of the home management, you contribute to the implementation of the educational and social mission of the FOJ with the young people received, while ensuring the operational management of the educational teams.
Educational responsibilities:
- You implement the educational and social mission of the FOJ in the assigned homes
- You ensure educational coherence, respect for institutional values, and quality of support
- You ensure the coherence and relevance of individualized educational projects
- You support parenting and contribute to the development of family skills within the legal framework.
Managerial and organizational responsibilities:
- You supervise and support the educational teams daily
- You plan the teams' work, monitor absences, and organize replacements
- You ensure regular follow-up, professional development, and well-being of employees
- You promote a collaborative, motivating, and empowering work environment.
This role combines educational commitment and managerial responsibilities within an institution promoting stability, autonomy, and development of the young people supported in a caring and dynamic work environment that encourages continuous training.
Activity rate: 100%.
Contract type: 12-month fixed-term contract, possibly extendable.
Start date: as soon as possible.
Grade: 18 according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva.

Qualifications
Prerequisites for the position:
- Education: Bachelor level HETS or considered equivalent (recognition by SEFRI mandatory for foreign diplomas), ideally complemented by a CAS in proximity management or considered equivalent
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in management and team leadership is an important asset for the position
- Knowledge: excellent knowledge of field educational work and the Geneva social network
- Skills:
- Leadership and ability to motivate employees
- Excellent knowledge of the child protection network in Geneva
- Autonomy, listening and negotiation skills, stress resistance
- Excellent sense of organization and responsibility
- Planning and administrative management
- Mobility and availability
- Writing skills
- Proficiency in computer tools (Microsoft 365)
- Nationality: Swiss or valid work permit.
