Formed in 1921, the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) is the governing body for all international events in Jumping, Dressage and Para Dressage, Eventing, Driving and Para Driving, Endurance, Vaulting and Reining. It establishes the regulations and approves equestrian programmes for Championships, Continental and Regional Games as well as the Olympic & Paralympic Games.

FEI promotes equestrianism in all its forms and encourages the development of the FEI equestrian disciplines throughout the world, keeping the welfare of the horse at the heart of all activities.

Today, the FEI has 136 members of National Federations and there are over 4,500 international events annually, including a number of FEI Championships and global FEI series. Over 120,000 athletes and horses are registered and women and men compete as equals.

Over 100 FEI staff are working in FEI’s Headquarters in Lausanne, ensuring the sport continues to grow and flourish, the rules are enforced, the results are processed, the international calendar is managed, and that the very values that are at the core of equestrian sport are safeguarded and promoted.

The FEI is looking for a part time HR Project Manager (80%) who will lead and tackle the review of its Internal Staff Rules. This is a fixed-term position until December 2024 with an immediate starting date, or to be agreed upon. The position is based in Lausanne.

HR Project Manager

Purpose of the Role

Over the past 10 years, the FEI has considerably increased its headcount. With that, HR processes need to be streamlined and internal rules updated according to Swiss law and best practices.

Reporting directly to the HR Director, the HR Project Manager will lead the review of the FEI Internal Staff Rules based on the current Swiss Law and regulation.

In parallel, our new member will work closely with the HR Team in the implementation of others specific projects.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Staff Rules & RH Processes

  • In collaboration with the HR team, establish a clear action plan for the review of the Internal Staff Rules;
  • Conduct a benchmark with market trends and best practices by collecting needs, ideas and emerging trends to be considered in the new regulations;
  • Review and update the current Internal Staff Rules by taking into consideration the current documents and practices in place;
  • Ensure the complete compliance of the personnel regulations with Swiss law;
  • Once finalized, implement a digital solution for the signing of the Internal Staff Rules that complies with Swiss law; and
  • Drafting and map out the HR processes stated in the Internal Staff Rules and Personnel Guide.

General Support

  • Pending on the advancement of Internal Staff Rules review, support the team on others specific projects.

Position Requirements

  • Brevet fédéral en Ressources Humaines or similar degree;
  • Fluent in French and English;
  • Proven experience in a similar project management position;
  • Experience as an HR Generalist, if in another Sports Organisation is a plus;
  • Solid knowledge of working Swiss Labour Law;
  • Strong writing skills with a solid experience in crafting HR processes and guidelines;
  • Ability to establish and tackle an action plan to achieve the specific deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others at all levels;
  • Discrete, loyal. team player with a strong service mindset; and
  • Computer literate. Excellent command of Microsoft Office, Visio.
