The Legal Service is responsible for all legal matters of the University of Bern, advises the university bodies, and supports the university management as part of the General Secretariat.
We are looking for a lawyer starting April 1, 2026, or by agreement, for a part-time position of 50-70%.
The following tasks await you:
• Advising university bodies on legal matters and providing legal information
• Conducting clarifications and preparing opinions in legal
procedures and preparing decisions
• Broad activities in various areas of law, mainly in public law (e.g., procedural law or personnel law)
• Managing legal projects and representing the Legal Service in working groups
• Other activities in other areas of the Legal Service (e.g., reviewing
regulations)
Requirements:
• Legal education (university degree with a master's degree; bar admission is an advantage) and professional experience
• Solid knowledge of public law or willingness to intensively familiarize yourself with this area
• Efficiency and skill in dealing with complex legal issues
• Good conceptual, social, and communication skills
• Very good editorial skills in German
• Language skills: German, English, French
