Chief Residents or Assistant Chief Residents in Geriatrics and Geriatric Rehabilitation
Within the Department of Medicine, the Geriatrics and Geriatric Rehabilitation Service of the CHUV is looking for chief residents or assistant chief residents with a workload between 80% and 100%, for its sites in Epalinges or the Hospital City in Lausanne.
The starting date is scheduled for November 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education.
The Geriatrics and Geriatric Rehabilitation Service relies on a complete and integrated clinical organization, including acute units, outpatient units, a long-term care unit, as well as a geriatric rehabilitation unit located at the CUTR Sylvana in Epalinges (93 beds).
The service develops a strong academic activity, combining specialized clinical care, postgraduate training, and translational and epidemiological research, particularly around the mechanisms of aging and bone metabolism.
Aligned with the cantonal health policy, the service actively contributes to the development of a culture of geriatric care adapted to the increasing aging of the population.
Mission
- You lead and supervise the clinical activities of your unit in collaboration with other chief residents and senior physicians
- You develop interprofessional collaboration with nursing, medical-technical, administrative, and logistical teams
- You participate in teaching and postgraduate training of assistant physicians
- You take part in the service's research projects, including clinical and translational studies, and contribute to compliance with good clinical practices
- You participate in on-call duties and standby (nights, weekends, and public holidays)
Profile
- You hold an FMH title in geriatrics or internal medicine with ongoing or planned training in geriatrics, or a title recognized by MEBEKO
- You have at least two years of hospital experience in internal medicine and/or geriatrics
- You show an interest in research and/or teaching
- You have at least B2 level French proficiency for non-French speakers (certificate required)
