Hot end operator
For its Boffalora Sopra Ticino plant, the company VETROPACK ITALIA is looking for resources to join the Hot end operators team.
POSITION OBJECTIVES
Reporting directly to the Hot End Shift Supervisor, the IS machine operator oversees the IS machines and performs the first quality check of the production, carrying out the appropriate maneuvers to resolve any discrepancies.
SKILLS
2.1. Technical/Professional
• Knowledge of safety procedures (PPE, IS machines, mold replacement, equipment replacement, etc.)
• Knowledge of the product conformity concept (use of specific gauges for each item, total checks before sending the product in, periodic checks through samples)
2.2. Managerial / Behavioral
• Communication skills
• Proactivity in managing safety aspects in the department
• Compliance with hygiene and environmental regulations
• Compliance with rules
• Compliance with shift rotation rules (3-2 in shifts: 06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 22:00 / 22:00 – 06:00; 3-1 in the summer period)
TASKS
• Complies with department safety rules, using the provided PPE as instructed and reporting any anomalies; complies with safety procedures related to specific machine activities.
• Glass control: visual drop inspection, simple adjustments on drop centering, drop weight adjustment;
• Machine control: cooling and lubrication, glass disposal system, belts, hot treatment hood, pusher blades, stacker and tempering, mold brushing, machine ejectors;
• Activities on molds / equipment: defect correction based on CE and HE analysis, mold replacement, management of old and new molds, pneumatic adjustments from the valve block, replacement of simple equipment (arms), adjustments of simple equipment (arms), proactive support for more complex mechanical activities, management of old and new equipment;
• Participation in series changeover: safe machine stop, feeder, refractories, machine cleaning on request, machine restart with technicians, support to technicians as needed, handling carts with molds and equipment.
• Product quality / conformity: use of specific gauges for each item; performs all preliminary checks before production of the item; performs periodic checks through so-called "samples"; cleans the machine; applies preventive scrapping rules; checks bottles on the conveyor
