The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a liter is always a liter (e.g., when refueling), METAS performs calibrations, conformity assessments, and consulting for business, research, and administration. Measurement accuracy creates trust, especially at the societal and political level, and is indispensable in many areas: road traffic, electricity billing, time transfer, measurements in environmental and health sectors, etc. At METAS, various disciplines come together and complement each other – and this has been the case since 1862.
Your new challenge
- Taking on leadership and decision-making tasks in the absence of the department head as well as supporting strategic and technical issues and cross-departmental projects
- Taking on leadership and decision-making tasks in the absence of the department head as well as supporting strategic and technical issues and cross-departmental projects
- Responsibility for portfolio management as well as defining and implementing standards, methods, and processes in project management
- Leading large interdisciplinary projects such as measuring instrument development, ICT, business software projects
- Close collaboration with internal and external partners as well as
- Ensuring transparent communication and reporting
Your profile
- Completed university degree (e.g., computer science, business informatics, engineering) or equivalent qualification and proven further training in project management and leadership
- Many years of experience in portfolio and project management and/or personnel management, in applying project management methods (e.g., Hermes agile, classic, hybrid) as well as successful implementation of digital transformation projects
- Solid knowledge in project planning, controlling, and project management as well as transformational leadership
- Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary issues, combined with strategic thinking, decisiveness, and assertiveness
- Active knowledge of two official languages and English
