Position Overview
The Principal Product Portfolio Strategist, International oversees a specific product portfolio strategy which contribute fundamentally to the international business growth and for shaping and implementing the new product portfolio strategy. The Principal Product Portfolio Strategist, International will be responsible for defining the strategy for future of specific product portfolio expansion. With our development activities in multi-cancer screening, our ‘minimal residual disease’ platform and our existing and growing suite of products to guide treatment selection the Principal Product Portfolio Strategist, International will orchestrate in close collaboration with our US-based development organization, the US-Business Units Precision Oncology and Screening how Exact Sciences will address patient needs in international markets to contribute to the eradication of cancer with leading product offerings.
This role will be part of a team of International Product Portfolio Expansion Leaders to define the strategy, drive and coordinate the pre-launch preparation activities. The role will also be responsible for advancing the international partnerships & collaborations in the relevant regions and markets which will be required for the successful introduction of future products across international markets.
The position reports to the Sr. Director International Product Portfolio Strategy and will be in our head office in the Kanton of Zug.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Defining and implementing international product portfolio expansion strategy.
- Leading development, implementation, and execution of international product portfolio strategy (what, when, where how) towards launch execution.
- Engage with corporate Strategy and BD to facilitate execution of global strategy and the PO and Screening Business Units to advocate and ensure truly global development efforts reflective of international needs.
- Accountable for the ‘New Products’ International Long-Range-Plan across all relevant functions
- Direct the Product Portfolio Expansion Leaders and orchestrate other functions (both international and US-based) to steer expedited product development & market preparation in line with international needs for launch success.
- Establish strong collaboration with country organizations for seamless handover for launch execution.
- Partner with cross-functional leads in R&D, Marketing, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, and Operations, among others, to develop and maintain program plans.

Minimum Qualifications
- Strong leadership & business acumen, experience in leading sizable, rapidly growing organizations.
- Pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strategic thinker with ability to orchestrate complex fast moving high-impact portfolio decisions.
- Deep diagnostics experience with strong insights in both development and commercial aspects.
- Proven ability to take products from development towards successful launch.
- Profound ‘sphere of influence’ both internally and externally.

- Substantial professional runway beyond this role.
- Strong experience in organizational and business transformation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Proven business development and partnering experience.
- Experience in dynamic fast-moving work environment. Strong track record and experience in building, leading and managing agile business teams, cross-functional matrix organizations as well as large-scale and globally multi-centered functional areas.
- Strong and proven track record in molecular diagnostics and/or precision medicine in leadership roles
- Strong and proven track record in (corporate) business development in the molecular diagnostic industry.
- Strong and proven track record as executive in interacting with KOLs and Leadership teams.
- The successful candidate will have a PhD/MBA or equivalent qualifications.
