Development Engineer - Embedded Systems

YOUR CHALLENGES

In order to develop advanced sensors products, we are looking to bolster our competences in the domain of embedded programming.

In addition your responsibilities are:

  • Specification, coding, verification and continuous maintenance of embedded firmware for sensors
  • FW architecture & system design: define firmware components, features and algorithms according to requirements
  • Industrialized Coding in C & C++of features and applications
  • Algorithm verification in collaboration with development engineers
  • Develop, perform and document test/ results for embedded control systems, focusing on FW
  • Lead projects in FW development
  • Cooperate with cross-functional team of experts within VAT R&D organization and hubs (in Haag, Mendrisio and Zurich)

YOUR COMPETENCES

  • Engineering Degree (MSc) in mechatronics engineering, computer sciences or similar
  • Solid (5+ years) track record in C programming for embedded systems and related Development Toolkits including uCs (e.g. ARM Cortex, NXP Cold Fire, Texas Instruments),and DSPs
  • Experience with Python, Matlab, Simulink is beneficial
  • Experience in system control and observation, as well as system identification, is highly appreciated
  • Knowledge of communication interfaces (like EtherCAT, TCP/IP Modbus, I2C, SPI, CAN FD) and mixed signal circuits is advantageous
  • Some experience in SW/FW architecture for cutting-edge devices and requirements engineering
  • Hands-on, systematic approach, creative thinker with problem-solving skills and a team player
  • FPGA programming experience is an additional, optional asset
