The Zug Cantonal Hospital is dedicated to the health of the population of the canton of Zug and the surrounding regions. Around 1200 employees, including 180 in training and further education, work in various areas. Every year, we treat and care for over 11,500 inpatient and over 70,000 outpatient patients. More than 27,500 people are treated annually in the interdisciplinary emergency center.

For our coding, we are looking for a Head of Medical Coding from July 1, 2026, or by arrangement.

Your Tasks

Personnel and professional management of the coding department
Further development of coding processes and tools
Coding of inpatient treatment cases from all specialties
Responsibility for cross-departmental tasks (optimization of medical documentation, DRG training, rejection management)
Analysis and validation of medical service data as well as support and advice to clinics in the area of SwissDRG
Expansion and further development of medical controlling

Your Profile

Higher medical education and federal specialist certificate in medical coding
Professional and coding experience in a Swiss acute care hospital
Empathetic and communicative personality with a convincing presence
Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
Independent, structured, and efficient working style
