CHUV Operations Director
We are looking for our next Operations Director (80 - 100%).
As a member of the CHUV Executive Committee, you play a key role in monitoring and implementing the institution's strategy. As the primary support to the Director General, you are their deputy and actively contribute to the management of CHUV.
In this capacity, you oversee certain support departments — for example in infrastructure, logistics, or information systems — the exact allocation of which will be defined upon your start, in consultation with the Director General. You ensure their alignment with the overall strategy, thus promoting a coherent, effective, and efficient operation of the institution.
As a promoter of cross-functionality, you work towards integrated management serving the care, research, and teaching missions of a leading university hospital.

Mission
- Contribute to the management of CHUV within the scope of your responsibilities as a member of its Executive Committee. Play an active role in the development, monitoring, and deployment of CHUV's strategy
- Advise the Director General, represent them by delegation, and act as their deputy in case of absence, ensuring the operation and coordination of the CHUV Executive Committee
- Manage and supervise support departments, guide and co-develop their own strategy ensuring alignment with the overall strategy. Manage or supervise strategic project management within your area of expertise
- Manage with the concerned directors the planning and allocation of human and financial resources within your department
- Exercise motivating and caring management in leading and supporting your direct collaborators in line with the institution's values
- Actively participate in strategic monitoring and risk management activities
- Manage or coordinate certain strategic and/or sensitive files, and participate in various steering committees, recruitment/appointment committees, or working groups
- Represent CHUV within your scope of competence and manage relationships with certain internal or external partners
- Actively participate in crisis management activities.
Profile
- University degree in a field related to business or healthcare management (or equivalent)
- Postgraduate training in strategic management and management training
- Diverse experience in healthcare institution management and strategic management. Leadership experience in a large organization
- Knowledge of hospital management operations in Switzerland (construction, logistics, risk management, partnerships, etc.) and the healthcare sector in general
- Proven leadership, managerial skills, strategic perspective, and sense of innovation
- Spirit of mutual aid and collaboration, ability to unite, and public service ethics
- Excellent ability to support the deployment of institutional strategies in close collaboration with managers and involved employees
- Strong interest in the hospital sector.
