Axpo is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Indirect Procurement to lead our Indirect Procurement function, overseeing a diverse portfolio of over 500 million CHF per year. This is a key leadership role within our Group Procurement organization, managing a team of more than 20 professionals and reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership to the Indirect Procurement team, inspiring high performance and professional growth.
- Set and communicate a clear vision for Indirect Procurement, translating strategy into actionable plans and measurable results.
- Manage strategic sourcing and supplier relationships across main categories: IT, Professional Services, Travel & Fleet, Market Data, and Facility Management.
- Drive cost optimization, risk management, and innovation within the Indirect Procurement portfolio.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and executive leadership to align procurement strategies with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with Axpo policies and relevant regulations.
- Champion digitalization and process improvement initiatives within Procurement.
- Act as the key liaison with Business Area Trading and Sales and] Oversee specialized commodity trading-related procurement areas such as market data information, intellectual property and licenses.
What You Bring
- At least 15 years of Procurement experience, with a strong track record in Indirect categories.
- Outstanding leadership skills, with experience managing sizable teams and complex portfolios.
- Ability to think strategically, develop a vision, and bring it to realization through effective execution.
- Experience with SAP Ariba modules (Sourcing, Contracts, Guided Buying & Catalogues) and other digital tools such as Akirolabs and Sievo.
- Relevant professional certification (CIPS or ISM CPSM).
- Fluent in German and English; knowledge of French and/or Italian is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach and strong analytical abilities.
