Job Description
Your activity as a technician in forensic medical radiology (TRMF) is based at CURML in Geneva and at CHUV in Lausanne. You must be able to work mainly on the Geneva site, but travel to the Lausanne site is expected. You perform routine examinations carried out at CURML (conventional radiography, CT scan, angio-CT, MRI) and have an interest in training in 3D surface scan examinations and photogrammetry.
As part of post-mortem angiographies, you autonomously perform delegated medical procedures such as biopsies, biological fluid sampling (blood, urine, vitreous humor...), and gas sampling on bodies.
You may be required to attend national and international conferences and give oral presentations in English, among other languages. You must also be pedagogical given the large number of students, particularly TRM students, within CURML.
Qualifications
You hold a HES-SO Bachelor’s degree as a medical radiology technician or an equivalent qualification. If your diploma comes from a foreign country, you have obtained recognition from the Swiss Red Cross and your diploma is registered in the National Health Professions Register (NaReg).
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is desired.
Several years of experience in clinical radiology are required, as well as experience in CT scan and MRI.
Experience in conventional radiology and/or post-mortem imaging would be an asset.
A team spirit, cooperation, and initiative are essential. You must be able to handle a heavy psychological burden with daily contact with corpses, involving manipulations and performing invasive technical procedures on the body. You must also be able to cope with the emotional burden, stress, and discomfort related to the thanatological environment (condition of altered and/or mutilated bodies with olfactory and/or visual consequences).
You have basic knowledge of forensic sciences or are willing to train in its fundamentals before starting your role. You are available evenings, weekends, and public holidays in case of emergency. Flexibility in terms of time and work organization is essential.
You must respect the absolute confidentiality required by medico-legal cases, subject to professional secrecy and judicial investigation (homicide, media cases, etc.).
