About the job
Introduction
Social responsibility and economic success do not have to be contradictory. At weroSoft, we are convinced that sustainable digitalization also means opening up opportunities for people and actively promoting integration. We are currently implementing this understanding very concretely. With a six-month internship in the field of software testing as part of an educational and qualification initiative by the city of Bern.
Entry into IT through practical experience
The intern is a career changer and is completing the internship with the goal of further qualifying in software testing and prospectively obtaining a corresponding certification. Especially for people without a traditional IT training path, entering the software industry is often associated with high hurdles. Lack of practical experience makes applications difficult, while practical experience is hardly attainable without entry.
This is where our commitment comes in: We offer not only a temporary workplace but a structured introduction to real test processes and active involvement in everyday project life.
Learning in a real project context
From the beginning, the intern is integrated into various project teams and works with experienced professionals. Among other things, they learn:
- the creation of structured test cases
- the execution of manual tests in different modules
- the systematic documentation of errors
- the use of test management tools
- the understanding of requirements, workflows, and quality criteria
These activities are not isolated exercises but part of ongoing development processes. This creates a realistic picture of how quality assurance actually works in software projects – including collaboration with development, product management, and project management.
Integration into the team instead of a marginal role
A central element of our approach is full integration into the project team. The intern participates in meetings, contributes observations, and receives continuous feedback. This not only builds professional knowledge but also confidence in dealing with workflows, technical language, and team communication.
Especially for career changers, this social and organizational integration is crucial. Professional skills can be learned – but self-confidence, belonging, and career prospects arise primarily through genuine participation.
Equal opportunities as part of our corporate culture
Our commitment is an expression of a clear stance. Digital transformation should exclude no one. As a software company, we bear responsibility for how access to technical professions is shaped. Equal opportunities and integration are not abstract terms for us but concrete fields of action.
Through cooperation with the city of Bern as part of an educational and qualification initiative, we can support people who are actively working on their professional future and need a structured, professional framework for this.
Investment in people and the future of the industry
At the same time, promoting young talent is also an investment in the future of the IT industry. The demand for qualified professionals in software testing is high and will continue to rise. Practice-oriented training opportunities, accompanied by experienced teams, are an important building block to develop sustainable competencies.
Our goal is to provide the intern with a solid foundation on which they can build their further professional path – whether through certification, further training, or entry into the regular job market.
Outlook – Rethinking commitment
Currently, gaining experience is our main focus. Both for the intern and for our team. The feedback so far is positive, and we clearly see the added value of such integration models – both professionally and personally.
On this basis, we will examine in what form we can continue to engage in promoting young talent and work integration in the future. Because sustainable business success arises where professional excellence and social responsibility come together.
