Office for Spatial Development | 70-90% | Chur
The Office for Spatial Development Graubünden (ARE) shapes the future of our unique alpine living space. With around 35 dedicated employees, we are committed to using land as a scarce resource responsibly and balancing the diverse demands on our living environment. Our tasks range from implementing the spatial planning policies of the government, supporting local and regional planning, to reviewing building applications outside the building zones. Transparency, expertise, and the protection of our natural living foundations are at the center of our work.
To strengthen our team in the Department of Land Use Planning and BAB, we are looking to hire by agreement two spatial planners as district planners (each 70 – 90%).

- Review of municipal land use plans and preparation of corresponding decisions for the approval authority.
- Management of BAB procedures as well as review of BAB applications and drafting of BAB permits.
- Drafting statements on other spatially relevant projects.
- Support of processes of special spatial significance at the municipal level.
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in spatial planning, architecture, or a related field, ideally combined with several years of professional experience.
- Independent, structured, as well as customer- and solution-oriented working style.
- Teamwork skills, sociability, flexibility, and resilience.
- Good knowledge of the canton of Graubünden and its social conditions.
- Experience or knowledge in urban planning and architecture.
- Strong communication skills as well as confident written and oral expression. Knowledge of another cantonal language is an advantage.
