About the job
Between Lake Thun, the impressive mountains around Interlaken, and the world-famous Grindelwald, the STI Group has been ensuring reliable and sustainable mobility for years – a central part of life in the region.
Our mission is more than just transport. We connect people – with places, opportunities, and experiences. For this, we rely on dedicated employees, modern technologies, and a strong anchoring in the region.
We are looking for an experienced, strong leadership personality for the role of
Your tasks
As Head of Driving Service, you bear overall responsibility for the operational driving service of STI Bus AG – and thus for the area that visibly represents what we stand for every day. You lead our ten team leaders and are therefore indirectly responsible for around 300 employees. You bring together threads: quality, operations, culture, safety, development.
You are close to the people and close to the operation. You understand what moves our driving service teams – in everyday life, on the road, in exchange with the control center, planning, or the workshop. At the same time, you set impulses for the future through stable processes, clear procedures, transparent communication, and a leadership culture that strengthens motivation, trust, and professionalism.
You work closely with various departments, represent the driving service in projects, towards municipalities and partner organizations, and contribute to ensuring that we offer our passengers a consistent, reliable, and positive experience.
Your skills
You bring solid experience from public transport, the transport sector, or a comparable operational environment – ideally with responsibility for teams and complex processes. You know the driving service from practice, understand the dynamics between planning, dispatch, control center, and technology, and can connect operational realities with a clear view of the whole.
At the same time, you think beyond the day: you are able to analyze topics in a structured way, develop concepts, and create decision-making bases that are both practical and strategically thought out.
For you, leadership means empowering people. You communicate clearly, make decisions transparently, and create an environment where trust, responsibility, and teamwork are lived. You have a natural sense for situations, can provide orientation in challenging moments, and understand how to combine quality, safety, and humanity.
Your benefits
You do not just perform a function – you actively shape public transport in the region. You ensure that people arrive punctually at work, school, or their loved ones. You lead a dedicated and motivated team and at the same time have room to develop processes, set impulses, and help shape the mobility of tomorrow.
We offer you an environment with meaning, appreciation, and perspectives. A workplace in the heart of Thun, training and development opportunities, attractive discounts, a 2nd class GA, and modern working conditions are of course included.
But what really defines us is the culture – the cohesion, openness, and joy in moving something together.
Ready to take responsibility and move mobility?
We look forward to your online application at sti.ch.
