The University of Applied Sciences for Business (HSW-FR) Freiburg is a member of the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO) and offers bilingual and trilingual programs at the Bachelor and Master levels.

The program director leads the Bachelor program in Business Administration in organizational, pedagogical, scientific, and administrative respects. He/she ensures the adequacy of resources and compliance with the institutional framework, particularly regarding quality management and AACSB standards.

Tasks and Areas of Responsibility

• Implementation of the program's further development based on adherence to objectives and support of all relevant projects
• Coordination of the activities of teaching and research staff involved in the Bachelor program, in line with the mission of the University of Applied Sciences (basic education, applied research, continuing education)
• Management of the program's resources in collaboration with the management, those responsible for the mission of the University of Applied Sciences and other training programs, as well as with other services of HSW-FR
• Strengthening pedagogical and scientific collaboration at the level of HSW-FR and HES-SO as well as nationally and internationally
• Leading the supervision of students and their program
• Representing the program in the committees and commissions of HES-SO
• Promoting the program and expanding contacts with public institutions, organizations, and professional circles
• Assuming teaching, research, and/or service tasks within own area of activity
• Functional and hierarchical leadership of the academic service staff

Your Profile

• Doctorate in a field relevant to the position or equivalent education, supplemented by further training, for example in management or educational sciences
• Extensive professional experience in the field of business and services as well as proven teaching experience at a university or university of applied sciences
• Competencies in academic management and leadership qualities
• Experience in a research institute or service center is an advantage
• Assertive, team-oriented personality with strong communication skills
• Proficiency in German and French with good knowledge of English

Additional Information

• Renewable four-year mandate as program director. It is linked to a permanent employment contract as Associate Professor FH.
