The High Court of the Canton of Zurich is, on the one hand, an appellate court in civil and criminal matters. On the other hand, it is responsible for the independent judicial administration of the Zurich civil and criminal courts as well as for the notarial system.
Due to the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for a
Head of Archive and Library (80-100%)
for the archive and library of the High Court of the Canton of Zurich as of June 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Your area of responsibility
- Personnel management of directly subordinate employees and overall responsibility for the areas of archive and library
- Responsible for all archive (internal delivery, archive management, file inspection requests, casebook processing, etc.) and library processes (acquisition, cataloging and systematic indexing of media holdings, inventory maintenance and management of the Netbiblio library system according to RDA/GND, etc.), which you handle together with your employees
- Management and support of archive and library projects (especially in the area of digitization within the framework of the DigiLex and Justitia 4.0 projects as well as the physical and digital delivery of procedural files to the State Archive of the Canton of Zurich), including participation in working groups
- Preparation of matters and implementation of the resolutions of the library commission, including participation in its meetings
- Internal and external contact person for all questions in the area of archive and library
Your profile
We are looking for a pragmatic personality who is professionally well qualified (degree in information sciences, e.g. MAS in archive, library and information science or equivalent training) and ideally has several years of leadership, project and professional experience in a similar function. You have a strong interest in IT issues and bring good technical understanding as well as very good MS Office skills. Ideally, you have already been involved in digitization projects or are familiar with the structured recording, maintenance and archiving of electronic files. You possess a quick grasp as well as the ability to recognize improvements and implement them independently after consultation with your superiors. A confident oral and written expression, precise working methods, reliability, a sense of order, a confident appearance, and enjoyment in contact with internal and external contacts complete your profile.
