Attached to the Department of Medicine , the cardiology service manages, on diagnostic and non-surgical therapeutic levels, adult patients suffering from cardiac pathology. It performs endovascular interventions on cardiac and peripheral vessels, myocardium, and valves.
Job Description
Under the supervision of the physician responsible for the cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation service, you will join a team composed of 4 to 5 physiotherapists and/or sports instructors. The person in this position must be involved in the management of the continuous Eureca program, the physical activity center of the HUG. Your adaptability, improvisation skills, and versatility will lead you to prepare, organize, set up, control, and monitor sessions adapted to the needs of patients participating in the program.
Together with your colleagues physiotherapists and/or sports instructors, you autonomously and collegially organize group care. You support patients through group activities in the gym (team games, ergometer retraining, weight training, etc.), in the pool (aquagym, etc.), or outdoors (walking, muscle strengthening with urban furniture).
Regarding the organization of physical activity sessions, you ensure a fair distribution and quality support for the approximately 70 patients who regularly participate in the program. You demonstrate openness and collaboration by consulting your colleagues about the practices used and propose new ideas when the situation invites you to do so.
Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or a Bachelor in Physical Education/Sports Science/APA or equivalent, or a recognized and registered diploma in physiotherapy and/or sports instructor by the Swiss Red Cross.
Ideally, you have completed one or more additional training courses (CAS) in the field of cardiac rehabilitation, ARTERIOfit, DIAfit, pulmonary rehabilitation, and/or a lifeguard training (Pool Plus offered by SSS).
You are capable of working independently while demonstrating team spirit. This allows you to work flexibly within a dynamic team, relying on excellent communication skills and a desire to evolve your practices.
You are comfortable with computer tools necessary to successfully carry out this mission. Mastery of HUG applications, especially DPI, is a plus.
You are flexible, adaptable (working with groups of varying sizes of patients indoors and outdoors). You are comfortable with teamwork (collegial organization of activities). You have a questioning attitude (reviewing and adapting practices if they seem inappropriate for patients). You are curious, know how to take initiatives, and are autonomous in time management, with a sense of organization, pedagogy, motivation, and a desire to share knowledge.
