For our "Ortho-Emergency" on-call service, which is available 365 days a year with extended opening hours (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.) for all orthopedic/traumatological as well as urological patients, we are looking for a specialist doctor starting July 1, 2025, or by arrangement
Specialist Doctor Ortho-Emergency
The Merian Iselin Clinic is a state-of-the-art, attending physician-oriented private clinic with a public service mandate in Basel. Our focus areas are orthopedics, surgery, and urology. With us, you will find meaningful work in a family-like environment where people are at the center.
Your main tasks
- Triage, medical responsibility, and simultaneous treatment of patients in the emergency department in cooperation with the nursing staff
- Ultrasound diagnostics of the musculoskeletal system, abdomen, and thorax
- Communication with the orthopedic and urological attending physicians of the clinic, as well as the patients' general practitioners
- Co-responsibility for in-house resuscitations
Your profile
- Specialist title in orthopedics and traumatology, anesthesia, surgery, or general internal medicine
- Certification in emergency sonography (POCUS) and specialty title in clinical emergency medicine (SGNOR) are advantageous but not mandatory
- Several years of professional experience and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration, good organizational skills, high service orientation, flexibility, and resilience
- Good communication skills in German and English, additional languages are an advantage
- Willingness to work in a two-shift system and on weekends
