Job description:
Head of Finance
As the financial manager, you will be responsible for the overall financial vision of the site, with particular expertise in controlling. You will be in charge of driving financial performance, ensuring accounting compliance, and contributing to the company's financial strategy.
Main Responsibilities:
- Finance lead:
- Member of the local management team
- Business partner for the general manager, addressing issues and proposing corrective actions
- Oversee accounting, relying on a chief accountant and their team for daily operations
- US-GAAP & statutory closes - full balance sheet and P&L responsibility
- Quarterly, interim, and year-end audits - internal control (Sarbanes-Oxley)
- Be the responsible party for all financial operations of the site: income & capital taxes, deferred tax declaration; day-to-day treasury, cash forecast, cash management; invoicing / export process and declarations; VAT declarations to be coordinated with the accounting team
- Controlling:
- Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and industrial costs, with the help of a junior controller
- Progressive and completion-based accounting decisions: tracking our costs within the production, with a big range of products and markets
- Contribute to financial strategy and risk management
- Collaborate closely with operational teams and management (Production, Project Management, Sales...), in a context with different business units and reporting lines
- Continuous improvement:
- Improve our reliability by providing better tools to track actual performance against the forecast (Excel)
- Maintenance of the new ERP system and improving processes; key finance user for ERP (IFS)
Required profile:
Profile requirements:
- Degree in accounting, finance, or management (master's level or equivalent)
- Significant experience in industrial management control, ideally within a capital equipment environment and with long-term contracts
- Strong accounting knowledge is essential to oversee and lead the financial functions of the site
- Experience in SME companies is a plus, along with a versatile, multi-skilled profile
- Experience in an international environment; experience with a USA parent company helpful
- Excellent ERP and Excel skills
- Fluency in German and English (mandatory)
- Management experience or demonstrated potential for leadership
- Strong analytical skills, rigor, and excellent organizational abilities
- Team spirit and excellent communication skills
