About the job
The parish of St. Johannes boldly and credibly shapes a modern interpretation of Christianity. The St. Johannes Center is an open meeting place where cultural creators, private individuals, companies, and organizers find a place to implement their projects and events. In addition to use for church celebrations and occasions, 30 clubs and groups from the parish and the neighborhood are at home in the multifunctional center. We are looking for a caretaker with guest services and sacristan duties 60 - 80 % starting June 1, 2026, or by arrangement. You see yourself as a host and make an important contribution in this role to smooth processes, safety, order, and a visitor-friendly image. Your tasks include: • Maintenance and cleaning of church and center rooms as well as outdoor facilities • Maintenance of technical and sanitary installations, minor repairs • Host for groups renting the parish center rooms: providing rooms and technology, support, inspection of rooms after the event, and closing service • Preparation and accompaniment of concerts, services, art exhibitions in the church • Weekend duties: 2 times per month (including Sunday morning service) • Contact with craftsmen and material procurement We expect: • Specialist in building maintenance or maintenance practitioner • Sociability, hosting qualities, enjoyment of working in a parish • Enjoyment of craft and environmental work • Good MS Office and German skills (spoken and written) • Organizational talent, independence, teamwork, flexibility, physical robustness • Willingness to work two weekends per month as well as evenings and holidays • Residence in the neighborhood or nearby is an advantage • Sacristan course or willingness to complete one We offer: • Collaboration in a dynamic team • Versatile, demanding tasks with high independence • Contacts with groups and clubs and the 230 volunteers • Progressive employment conditions with very good social benefits as well as attractive training opportunities Information about the Catholic Church Community of Lucerne and the parish of St. Johannes can be found on our homepage www.kathluzern.ch.
