The court staff work daily on behalf of those seeking justice for an independent and efficient judiciary and thus make a valuable contribution to legal peace.
The Cantonal Court of St. Gallen is the highest cantonal appellate court in civil and criminal matters. The I./III. Civil Chamber (personal, inheritance and property law as well as contract law and legal assistance in civil matters) reviews appeals and complaints against decisions of the district courts. The Cantonal Court employs around 50 staff members.
