About the job
The Opportunity
As a Field Service Engineer at HITACHI ENERGY LTD, you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of our products and systems directly at the customer's site in Switzerland. You ensure optimal performance and availability of the plants, thereby making a significant contribution to customer satisfaction.
What You Can Achieve
- Carrying out installations, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs on HITACHI ENERGY products and systems, especially in the areas of high voltage, power transmission, and distribution.
- Troubleshooting and resolving faults in complex electrical systems and installations.
- Preparing service reports and documentation after each assignment.
- Advising customers on technical issues and optimization possibilities.
- Training customer personnel in handling the systems.
- Compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Willingness to travel within Switzerland and occasionally abroad.
- Participation in on-call duty (standby) outside regular working hours.
- Continuous training and updating of expertise on new products and technologies.
Your Background
- Completed technical training (e.g., electrician, electronics technician, automation technician) or studies (e.g., electrical engineering, energy technology).
- Several years of professional experience in service or maintenance of electrical systems, ideally in the energy sector.
- Solid knowledge in high voltage technology, switchgear, and control systems is an advantage.
- Confident handling of measuring and testing devices.
- Good German skills in spoken and written form (Swiss German is an advantage), as well as good English skills. French skills are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- High level of initiative, responsibility, and customer orientation.
- Valid driving license category B.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel.
