About the job
Class and annual salary (including 13th month salary):
18 129'366.-- / 210’292.--
Tasks:
- manage and coordinate the activities of the Vocational Training Division
- coordinate the development and promotion of basic, advanced and continuing vocational training
- promote qualitative development and innovation in vocational training
- ensure alignment between political guidelines and the operational implementation of vocational training in Ticino
- collaborate with the Department management in the development and implementation of strategies in the field of vocational training
- represent and provide support to the Department for meetings of federal university bodies and participate in working groups and cantonal, federal and intercantonal commissions in the field of vocational training
- develop and coordinate proposals for government messages and responses to parliamentary acts within areas of competence
- maintain and cultivate relationships with companies, employer and union labor organizations, educational institutions and political authorities
- ensure proper management of financial flows for the vocational training sector and for the cost centers of the Vocational Training Division
- manage administrative and teaching staff employed in the Division in accordance with the provisions of the State Council and the Department, promoting a positive and rewarding work climate
Requirements:
- university degree or degree from a university of applied sciences (bachelor + master or license)
- knowledge of the Swiss education system and the cantonal and national vocational training system
- proven management and leadership experience. Preferential qualification may include management and leadership experience in schools, educational institutions and/or public institutions
- ability to work interdisciplinarily and in complex contexts
- sensitivity to sustainability, inclusion and equal opportunity issues
- excellent knowledge of the Italian language
- knowledge (spoken and/or written) of German and French. Knowledge of English may be a preferential qualification
- relational, communication and mediation skills
Special notes:
- start date August 1, 2026 or date to be agreed
- the 50% employment rate is only possible in the form of job sharing with two part-time positions. In this case, candidates must submit individual applications and indicate in the motivation letter the intention to take the position in job sharing together with the personal details of the candidate with whom they intend to share the position

Employment conditions:
- appointment or assignment: as provided by the Law on the organization of State employees and teachers of March 15, 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any changes in law concerning salary and organization are explicitly reserved
- working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment relationship), flexible or according to service needs
