Aggarwal AG is a Swiss-Indian family business based in Langenthal (BE) and the leading importer and distributor of Indian and international food products in Switzerland. Since 1986, we have been building our business on high-quality products from India, Asia, Africa, as well as Latin and Central America.

Today, our range includes more than 4,000 products in the areas of fresh, frozen and dry goods, beverages, as well as non-food items. We supply gastronomy and retail customers throughout Switzerland and operate our own branches in Bern, Basel, Zurich and Baden.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced and highly hands-on oriented personality as Branch Manager, who will take responsibility for our daily commercial and operational activities.

You will be responsible for building and leading efficient structures, continuously optimising our processes, and actively contributing to the achievement of our short-, medium- and long-term corporate goals.

Your tasks

As Branch Manager, you take overall responsibility for the daily operation of our branch in Basel. You lead the team, ensure smooth operations and make sure our customers feel comfortable with us.

Store responsibility and organisation

- Overall responsibility for the daily operation of the branch

- Organisation and coordination of workflows and scheduling

- Responsibility for order, cleanliness and an appealing appearance of the branch

- Implementation and compliance with internal processes and guidelines

Sales and customer service

- Leadership, motivation and development of the sales team

- Active participation in sales and competent advice to our customers

- Professional handling of customer complaints

- Building and maintaining positive customer contact

- Promotion of sales and achievement of turnover and sales targets

- Recognising customer needs and actively supporting product selection

- Implementation of sales campaigns, promotions and seasonal activities

Inventory management and warehouse

- Responsibility for goods ordering and demand-based disposition

- Control of stock, goods receipt and availability

- Monitoring of best-before dates and reduction of product losses

- Ensuring a clear and efficient warehouse organisation

- Conducting and coordinating inventories

- Close cooperation with purchasing, warehouse and logistics

Quality and hygiene

- Ensuring compliance with hygiene, quality and safety standards

- Checking products for quality, durability and operational requirements

- Identifying and addressing quality issues and initiating appropriate measures

Administration and responsibility

- Responsibility for cash management and correct daily closings

- Monitoring relevant key figures and branch results

- Reporting to management

- Identifying improvement potentials and independently implementing optimisation procedures

- Responsibility for achieving the operational and commercial goals of the branch

Your profile

- Several years of professional experience in retail, ideally in a leadership role

- Strong customer and service orientation

- Sales-strong and communicative personality

- Organisational talent with a structured and independent working style

- High initiative and pronounced sense of responsibility

- Hands-on mentality

- Entrepreneurial thinking with a feel for numbers

- Enjoyment in dealing with people and different cultures

- Good German skills. Additional languages, especially English, are an advantage.

- Experience in the food trade or FMCG is an advantage.
