The Child and Adult Protection Authority Glarus (KESB) is responsible for ensuring the protection of persons who cannot take care of their own affairs and are also unable to independently obtain the necessary support. The KESB is supported by its own clarification service, a secretariat, an auditing office, and an advisory office for private mandate holders.
We are looking for a
Member of the Child and Adult Protection Authority 80%
starting March 1, 2026, with the workplace in Glarus.
Tasks
- As a regular member of the KESB decision-making body, responsible for clarification, ordering, and supervision of the measures ordered by the authority in child and adult protection
- As a case-leading member, independently handling the assigned cases (issuing orders to the clarification service, conducting interviews and hearings, preparing proposals for the KESB)
- Instruction and advice for guardians and trustees
- Taking over specialist departments and participating in the management and further development of the KESB
Requirements
- Tertiary degree in law, psychology, pedagogy, or social work with several years of work experience
- Profound knowledge of child and adult protection law
- Strong conceptual, communicative, and analytical skills
- Interest and ability for legal thinking
- Willingness to familiarize oneself with new specialist areas
- Fluency and confidence in oral and written expression
- Teamwork skills and ability for interdisciplinary collaboration
- High social competence and resilience as well as assertiveness
