Role Summary
The Community Specialist, Europe and Eurasia, supports the Forum’s engagement with governments, regional institutions, and expert communities in the region. The role combines relationship management, project and event coordination, and operational support to advance public-private cooperation and ensure the region’s priorities are well represented in the Forum’s global activities.
The position requires close collaboration across the Forum, strong relationship-building skills, and a solid understanding of the region’s political, economic, and societal transformations, particularly in relation to the European competitiveness agenda.
Reporting Lines and Interactions
The Specialist reports to the Head of Europe and Eurasia and works closely in support of colleagues across the Europe and Eurasia team and with other Forum units. Externally, the Specialist liaises regularly with public officials and institutional partners across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship and Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain relationships with government counterparts and other key stakeholders in the region.
• Support regional engagement with governments, businesses, academia, and civil society to align cooperation with national and regional priorities.
Project and Programme Management
• Coordinate the region’s contributions to Forum platforms, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives and stakeholder value creation.
• Support cross-team initiatives to catalyse public-private partnerships in the region.
Events and Operational Support
• Plan and execute sessions and meetings focused on the region at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting and other institutional events.
• Coordinate event logistics, speaker management, and follow-ups.
• Support internal team operations, including internal communications and process improvements; ensure databases and key documents are up to date.
Research and Analysis
• Monitor and assess political, economic, and societal developments in specific geographies.
• Provide insights to inform the Forum’s regional agenda and engagement strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum two years of professional experience, ideally within international organizations, European institutions, or national administrations; private-sector experience is an asset.
• Master’s degree in international relations, law, economics, business, or related field (Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience accepted).
• Demonstrated experience in relationship management, project and event coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in additional European languages an asset.
• Skilled in using digital tools for coordination, communication, and project tracking.
